Caitlyn McLaughlin is an artist living and working in Brooklyn, New York. She received her MFA in Studio Art at NYU Steinhardt, and her BFA from School of Visual Arts. She is also an educator currently teaching classes at Textile Arts Center.

Caitlyn’s work poses questions about comfort, personal space, the intimacy of textiles, and deeper meanings in everyday materials. Her quilts and other sculptural multimedia pieces are a reaction to the anxiety of everyday change and unpredictability through meditative repetition, traditional motifs, and precise craftsmanship. With wry humor and a radical sensibility she explores feminist ideas of gender and domesticity. It aspires to live multiple lives: in gallery spaces, in the home, on our bodies.
